What Each Does

The crankshaft turns the resulting power into rotary motion, and the driveshaft works with the transmission to turn that motion into wheel and tire movement. The oil pan or sump stores engine oil for lubrication during operation. Many other parts, like gears, sprockets, rings, and bearings, fit everything together correctly.
